Chris Stevens-James - Deep Tissue / Sports Massage
Chris has been a member of the salon team since 2014. During his time with us he has responded to the needs of our clients by creating a unique treatment of Deep Tissue Sports Massage with Hot Stones.
By blending three specialized massage therapies into one, Chris has developed a massage treatment that is both an effective therapy for chronic or persistent aches and pains, muscle injuries and joint pain, and is also deeply relaxing and stress relieving.
Within each treatment you will receive…
Hot Stones Massage – relaxes and soothes your muscles to melt away tension and emotional stress.
Deep Tissue Massage – releases postural tension, muscle spasms, trigger points, and fascial congestion.
Sports Massage Therapy – mobilises and manipulates your muscles and joints so you can move more freely.

Samuel brings over 19 year experience in massage and skin care. He will be running clinics in the salon on Saturday mornings.

What is Myofascial Dry Cupping?
Silicon cups are placed on the body. Then a vacuum is formed, lifting the soft tissue, creating a stretch within the muscle and fascia. This stretch effect, helps improve blood flow, reduce muscle tension and pain. Along with other benefits.
What happens during a treatment?
Samuel will complete a consultation and develop a treatment plan specific for you. Oil is applied to the treatment area. The cups are left in a static position or moved to provide a deep tissue massage effect. This helps break down scar tissue, realign fascia, improve circulation and reduce cellulite. This also helps improve mobility. During the treatment other massage techniques are used to complement the positive effects.
After the treatment?
The vacuum can sometimes cause circular marks, where the cups have been due to increased blood supply. These may last a few days after the treatment. You will feel very relaxed and an increase in mobility may take affect.
